The hinged window, which is the most widely used window system around the world, is a window that is connected to the profile by one or more hinges on its sides. A hinged window can have one or two opening hinges; These hinges can be found in the top corners, bottom corners, or middle of the frame. They can even be used in combination with fixed windows.
How to maintain hinged windows is very simple, just clean it with liquid soap and water or dust with a soft brush. To avoid scratching the surface of your window, use a clean cloth to wipe the dried dirt from the surface.
Hinged windows can be made and installed from aluminum or UPVC.
Hinged window features
This type of window system opens wide which means you can enjoy the view and get good ventilation. They are also easier to clean since you can access both sides of the window. On the other hand, they are thermally and acoustically insulated thanks to the excellent air sealing and double-glazed glass, which also saves electricity and heating.
Types of hinged windows
In general, the hinged window is divided into two categories, single and double. The opening of the single-mode window can be opened normally horizontally or upward, which is called a canopy window. However, there is also another type of vertical opening that opens from top to bottom, which is called a klangi window.
The two-mode window, as its name suggests, has two opening modes. This window system is designed so that it can be opened horizontally and vertically. This means you can enjoy the benefits of horizontal and vertical opening in one window.
It takes a lot of skill to install replacement windows.
Different materials for making hinged windows
The most widely used materials for making hinged doors and windows are aluminum and UPVC. Each of these materials has unique features that you should choose your desired material according to these features.
Aluminum is a light, elegant and beautiful metal that can give a beautiful effect to the house and the facade of the building, but along with these advantages, it also has a big disadvantage. Aluminum metal is highly conductive of heat and this makes it waste a lot of energy in cold seasons with heat transfer. Of course, this problem has been solved to some extent with the advent of thermal break aluminum profiles.
Opposite aluminum is UPVC, which is a useful material in various fields. UPVC doors and windows are excellent sound and thermal insulation and prevent the penetration of dust and fine particles. To satisfy the majority of tastes, UPVC door and window manufacturers offer a wide range of UPVC profile colors and designs. This window is also resistant to harsh weather conditions and will have a long useful life.
One of the top UPVC manufacturers is Teknema PVC company, which offers UPVC door and window profiles in three series, Vanavin, Royal Van and Gold UPVC. The profiles produced in this company are 60 series, which are 5-channel Vanavin window profiles and 4-channel Royal Van and Gold UPVC profiles.

Hinged window installation steps
The first step of installation is having the necessary skills. Depending on the type of windows you use, different levels of capabilities may be required. To replace full-frame windows, you need more advanced skills because the process is quite complicated. We recommend that you hire an experienced installer if you have no experience with window replacement. In addition to the right skills, you must also have the right tools. The right tool depends on each specific project.

We assume that the opening in which you want to install the window is accurately measured. You also need to purchase the correct window. You will also need to purchase all necessary hardware such as crank mechanism, screws, hinges and locks.
Step 1: Waterproof the opening
It is essential that your opening is waterproof. You don’t want moisture to get between the wall and the window. From the outside, use an aluminum strip or gasket to seal the opening. Roll out the material starting from the bottom threshold and make sure there are no gaps. Continue caulking around the sides, making sure it’s sealed tightly. You can use 8-inch wide sealing tape, install it around the entire frame. Wrap the tape around the profile and staple it with a staple gun.

Step 2: Fix the window
The new window is fixed with a so-called nailing flange. If it is not already bent, you need to turn it to a 90 degree angle. In this way, when installing the window, the nailing flange is flush with the wall. Now is the time to open the window. There should be about a 1/2 inch gap on all sides. If the opening is too large, nail strips of plywood to the frame. If the opening is too small, modify the frame to make it larger. With the help of another person, lift the window into the frame and fit it properly. Make sure the slope has not moved.

Step 3: Nail the window
Place two 4-inch clips made of 1/2-by-1-inch lumber on the sill, placing them about two inches from the corners. Place a surface on top of them and move them back and forth until the level bubble is centered. Pre-drill a 1/8″ hole in each and secure it to the sill with a 6D nail.
Starting at the top, drive a nail into the center hole, then insert a pin through every other hole. Make sure your window is still level. If so, continue to insert nails into the rest of the nailing flange holes.
Step 4: Additional seal
Apply more gasket or aluminum tape to the top nailing flange to ensure there is no leakage from the top. Seal window flanges, if present, by placing a bead of silicone sealant on the side facing the house. Place the window in the opening—usually a two-person job—and push it until the flange is against the frame. If the window does not have a flange, press the window into the rough opening until the outer edge of the case is flush with the frame.
Step 5: Finish the job
At this point, you can install all the window fittings. These fittings include handles, locks, zamak, zahwar and espagnolette. The quality of the fittings has a great impact on the performance of the window, so be sure to pay attention to the quality of the fittings when buying a window.
