Accordion double-glazed windows, also known as folding windows, open and close like an accordion. These windows offer space-saving features because they take up minimal opening space when open. This advantage allows you to use the folding door mechanism in any location, whether it is a residential or commercial property.
In the interior of residential areas, bi-folding mechanisms can be used as wardrobe doors, shower doors, windows, bedroom doors, closet doors, etc. You can also connect several external areas through folding doors. For example, the living room can be connected to the balcony, kitchen and dining room with the help of folding doors.
Folding doors and windows are exceptionally compatible with a variety of decorations and facades.
History of the Accordion Window
Folding doors date back to ancient times, with folding doors being used as entrance doors in the Roman Empire and Ancient Greece. Even Egyptian tombs had bi-folding door mechanisms. Since glass was not available at that time, their surfaces were simply made of wood or concrete.
Early examples of folding doors can be seen at several excavation sites. A folding door from the Roman Empire was recently excavated in Pompeii, Italy. It is estimated to have been in use in the first century AD. Another excavation of a double door was carried out in Zurich, Switzerland. It is estimated to be around five thousand years old.
Profile material suitable for double-glazed accordion windows
Since the accordion window is more expensive than a regular sliding window, it is very important that the profile is made of high-quality raw materials that will last and function for a long time. Aluminum or UPVC can be used to make the accordion window. Aluminum profile is elegant and strong, but because it is a heat conductor, it is not suitable for use in cold regions.
UPVC is one of the best materials for making doors and windows. This material, which is compatible with all weather conditions, prevents heat and sound transmission and gives you a long useful life. Teknama PVC Sepahan Company is one of the most experienced and best manufacturers of UPVC profiles in the country, which offers its products under the brands Wannawin, Royal Win and Gold UPVC. Since customer satisfaction with quality and reasonable price has always been part of the company’s goals, the Royal Win and Gold UPVC product series are offered at an economical and affordable price and exemplary quality.

How to design a double-glazed accordion window
One of the fastest and most efficient ways to design an accordion window is to use a door and window design software. One of the best software in this field is MasterWin, which was designed and developed by the Data Scanner Technology Company. MasterWin can perform the most complex calculations at the lowest speed and allows you to design in different sizes and shapes. This program has a huge archive of profile types with more than 800 profile series, and MasterWin also has two access levels for different users, which are offered in the forms of Plus Management and Plus Store.
UPVC windows and doors are more affordable than aluminum.

Installing panels
Installing Panel No. 1
Align the side of panel #1 that has the clamp plates with the hinges attached to the adjustable base of the outer frame. Place the hinge on the clamp plate and secure with M5x10mm machine screws using the top and bottom.
Tools Required: – 3mm Allen key required.
